Abstract
All of the papers included in this book belong to the section “Historical pragmatics and historical varieties of linguistics, practice in science and methodology – divergences and convergences” and were presented at the XXVIII Deutscher Romanistentag in September 2003 in Kiel. The conception and planning of this section were lead by the comprehension that historical pragmatics and historical varieties of linguistics have many objects and methods of research in common, but have developed in quite different ways concerning their institutions and their research tradition. Keeping this in mind the papers aim at naming and commenting these convergences and divergences within a reflected dialog. A special focus has been placed on the close interlocking of research practice and methodology.
